Dr. Michael Chafetz is a board certified clinical neuropsychologist and clinical psychologist. He has over 25 years of clinical and forensic experience in providing thorough assessments and meaningful research contributions.
Dr. Chafetz specializes in the assessment of individuals who have various forms of brain pathology. He provides full forensic neuropsychological assessments on legal matters, including disability cases, fitness-for-duty, civil litigation, and criminal cases.
Dr. Chafetz is frequently called upon to present on legal applications of neuropsychological evaluations, having presented to regional, state, national, and international audiences. He has delivered numerous specialized presentations to organizations such as: the American Psychological Association; National Academy of Neuropsychology; American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology; Association of Administrative Law Judges; Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Judges, Tulane CLE by the Hour, and Swedish Neuropsychological Society.

On scholarly matters, Dr. Chafetz has contributed research, theory, and technical expertise to numerous publications, including: Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology, The Clinical Neuropsychologist, Applied Neuropsychology, National Association of Disability Examiners Advocate, Child Abuse & Neglect; and other publications.

For his accomplishments in the fields of psychology and neuropsychology, Dr. Chafetz was named Distinguished Psychologist in 2012 by the Louisiana Psychological Association. In 2018, he was awarded the Contributions to Psychological Science award by the Louisiana Psychological Association. He was named the Outstanding Alumnus in 2019 by the Tulane School of Science and Engineering.
